Thought I'd weigh in here just for the record. About our family's 'obsession" with Noah's Ark. When I was in high school, my parents bought some property and ordered a log cabin house 'kit'. The cedar log home came from out West somewhere by train and we had to go to the train yard to unload it from the box car and haul it to the construction site. It was a cool and very different home; the walls went together like Lincoln logs, it had a cedar shake roof and the interior walls looked the same as the exterior. I don't remember this next and very important part of the Noah obsession story, but from the day we unloaded the boxcar, it rained every day for 40 days. Maybe it just rained a lot and a lot (my family does have a propensity for exaggeration) But anyway, so the story goes. I'm enjoying this blog site immensely! Mom

Oooh, I've got to find out more about the "Passive House Consultant" certification - sounds interesting!

Best of luck on adoption, too. We've considered it for years, but can't afford it right now. I looked into it a bit and can see it's a long road full of forms, so keep at it! It'll all be worth it when it works out.

Hmmm, Mom vs. Architect... BOTH, I'll tell you, is just exhausting! Good luck w/ your decisions for your future, and with the "baby plans" ;-). You're right - there's no easy answers - just follow your heart.

OH, thanks so much for reminding me!
I have been feeling "so tired" with 4 kids, I'd completely forgotten that I'd been there before - in Architecture school! Your post brings back soooo many memories...
